Today's tonic: "Mark Carney had a chance to weigh in one of the defining issues facing Canada. The answer he gave suggests he isn’t ready for public life" by Matthew Mendelsohn, CEO of Social Capital Partners and a previous federal and Ontario deputy minister.  

I knew and admired Mendelsohn when he was Deputy Minister for Democratic Renewal in Ontario in 2003.  He's a great guy and a great thinker with clear progressive ideals.  

This article lays bare some gaping flaws or blind spots in Mark Carney's current political instincts.  Many have been jumping on Carney's bandwagon as a possible successor to Justin Trudeau as federal Liberal leader.  They should definitely have a read of this sobering critique of a man who's spent his whole career chumming with the richest elites on the planet. 

Someone so inexperienced in retail politics, who seems to be an apologist for the most powerful on earth and their ideologies, may not be quite a good fit for progressive national leadership, I do agree.
